I am certain of one thing – I have no idea what I am going to talk about right now, but I wanted to post something up today. Really, the reason why is because I had told someone that I would post something up everyday. What was I thinking?
That being said – what has happened to integrity? Recently I have read and seen many blogs and information about popular Christian Culture people coming “out of the closet”. I was going to leave this out of this forum, but I have something to say. There have been WAY too many wolves in sheep clothing, and I am not talking about the people who have come out and said they are gay. Wait Ben, are you saying homosexuality is ok? Absolutely not. Homosexuality is wrong… and that is scriptural no matter how anyone wants to interpret it. I am talking about those who are taking the opportunity to speak evil of them. While homosexuality is wrong, God still loves the homosexual, and thus who are we to disqualify someone from the love of God? But for those of us who are seeking to grow and learn from everything, there are some crucial lessons to learn from this whole experience. So let me list them out…as I think of them.
1 – Just because you have been defeated by something for a long period of time doesn’t mean that it is GOD. Let’s all raise our hand and be honest that there are some areas in our lives that we have battled for…. for ALL our lives. If that were the case then I could blame God for all the extra pounds that I have been carrying along. If only physical weight was the worst of it, but it’s not. The truth is we have to deal with the things that are keeping us back. TRYING to deal with them does not solve it, and being afraid of it doesn’t help it.
*****1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
Fear has torment. There are people all around us that live in fear and thus live a tormented life. That ought not be. Make a commitment to let go of that area in your life that has plagued you with fear, and let go of the harshness that you have held on to for someone else who you have disqualified from God’s love. The fact is, we can stink at fixing ourselves. Just because you can’t fix yourself, doesn’t mean that God did it to you. Maybe you just stopped standing, when the Bible says that when you have done all to stand…. stand.
2 – Just because you defeated something doesn’t mean that it will never bother you again. 1 Corinthians 10:12-13 So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall! 13No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. We have to guard our hearts and keep some wisdom in our steps. Basically, if you have received the victory from something, don’t go back to the place where you were in bondage. Let it go
Ok, so I have some work to do – but I wanted to post something. I think it actually turned out well. I may read it tomorrow and trash the post, but I tried anyways.
Thank you all for reading, and keep passionately pursuing God, while silently serving man.
